Anna Němcová
After graduating from Park Lane in 2024, I went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in European Law at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Park Lane played a key role in guiding me through the process of applying to universities and sports scholarship programmes in both the United States and the Netherlands. Ultimately, choosing to pursue my degree in the Netherlands has proven to be the best decision for me, due to the strong internship and career opportunities facilitated by the university, the supportive and international student atmosphere in Maastricht, and the problem-based learning (PBL) system, which aligns closely with my preferred learning style. Through comparative analysis across jurisdictions, we study various fields of law using the PBL system, which forces students to take greater responsibility for their learning and to actively teach and learn from one another in small tutorial groups. In my second year, I also enrolled in the university’s Honours Programme and took up a part-time position at a law firm based in Prague. Park Lane, and particularly my choice of IB subjects, prepared me well for these experiences by helping me develop strong time- management, language, writing, and interpersonal skills that I use on a daily basis.
